The Choir began in 1986, and is still going. We do two concerts a year, and also participate in other events such as Songfest.
The choir sings a wide variety of music, both a capella and accompanied, ranging from folk songs, madrigals and spirituals to large choral pieces, sometimes accompanied by a small orchestra. We include sacred, secular and humorous songs in our concerts.
Anyone is welcome to have a go at singing with us. You don’t have to be able to read music, and you don’t have to be a Pavarotti or Sutherland to be able to sing with us. There are no auditions for membership – the main requirements are a love of music and a willingness to work within a group and to learn. Come along, introduce yourself, and have a go. After a few weeks you’ll be asked to become a member if you decide to continue with us.
Our rehearsals are every Monday night at 7:00pm, in the Uniting Church, Stoneville Road, Mundaring, opposite the shopping centre. A few times a year we skip a rehearsal, so it’s best to contact us if you are thinking of coming.
